Native to Mediterranean region, Oregano is one of the most widely used herbs in the world. It has derived its name from a Greek word which means ¬ëmountain-delight¬í. Romans & many Europeans learnt the use of Oregano from Greeks and started using it in various foods and medicines. Oregano has an aromatic, warm and slightly bitter taste. Together with basil, it contributes to characteristic taste of Italian cuisine.
